The museum is celebrating with special activities for the whole family.
While you’re waiting to experience the celebratory sparks flying at night, experience creative fireworks at the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s heritage events. In celebration of the UAE’s 47th National Day, the museum will host a series of local heritage activities on 1 and 2 December 2018. The activities will include traditional Al-Ayyala dance performance, showcases for the art of falconry, basket weaving and traditional Bedouin embroidery Al Sadu, storytelling by a Hakawati who will deliver an original fictitious story based around objects from the permanent galleries, and poetry recitals under the dome throughout the day.
The museum is offering three UAE Inspired tours, where visitors can learn about the birth of the museum from the vision of the UAE Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. A UAE motif workshop is also offered to children to create designs based on Emirati jewellery found in the collection of the museum. The UAE Inspired tours will take place in the permanent galleries at 4, 5 and 6 pm on both days, and the children’s workshop will run from 3 to 6 pm at the Children’s Museum.
All activities are free with the museum admission ticket, which is AED 60 (excluding 5% VAT). Free entry for children under the age of 13.
BONUS:
UAE nationals will receive a 20% discount on full-price museum admission tickets and a 15% discount at the Museum Café, upon presenting their ID at the ticketing desk to avail of the offer. This offer is valid from 29 November to 2 December 2018.
